Fat Loss Trends That Work

Feeling a bit sluggish after Christmas or even a holiday?
Or maybe those energy dips and stubborn pounds just won’t budge?
If you’re nodding along, you’re not alone. The start of a new year is the perfect time to shake things up, ditch the old diet cycles, and actually feel GOOD about your nutrition, without going hungry or living on salads and willpower.
So let’s jump straight in.
Here are a few nutrition trends worth exploring thos year if you want more energy, better fat loss, and to get back in control, without all the fad nonsense.
🍽️ 1. Protein with Every Meal
Sound too simple?
It works.
Most people I coach eat way less protein than they think.
Adding a palm-sized portion (chicken, fish, eggs, Greek yoghurt, beans, or tofu) to every meal can make a massive difference to muscle, satiety, and burning fat.
Plus, it keeps energy up and stops those 3pm sugar crashes.
And when I say 'Protein' I mean real food, not any of that marketing crap like 'protein yoghurt', 'protein pizza', 'protein snickers', 'protein chinese', 'protein weetabix'.... NO... JUST NO >> leave that shit alone.
Know when you're being marketed to!!!
🥦 2. Veggie Variety over ‘Superfoods’
Forget chasing expensive superfoods.
This year, it’s all about diversity.
Try adding at least three different coloured veggies to your plate at each meal. Not only does this up your nutrient game, it helps gut health and keeps meals anything but boring.
💧 3. Hydration Gets an Upgrade
Bored of being told to drink more water?
Here’s the twist: add a pinch of salt or an electrolyte tab or just a slice of lemon/lime to one of your bottles per day, especially after morning exercise.
You’ll recover faster, feel more alert, and keep those post-workout energy slumps at bay.
🍚 4. Ditch ‘All or Nothing’ Dieting
Here’s the biggie whether you’re starting out or have tried it all before.
Let go of fat-loss perfectionism.
Focus on eating real food 80% of the time, but allow yourself the occasional treat (yes, really).
You’ll be much more consistent, and that’s what brings results, not another extreme diet.

PS. Imagine looking on the mirror and feeling proud of your progress, not beating yourself up for falling off the wagon (again). It all starts when you do.

If any of this resonated, i've put together a short free guide that explains why fitness feels harder after 30 without blaming you or telling you to try harder.
